Super 7: Holiday Gadget Gift Guide 2012

Here at HCS, we love gadgets! We’re gearing up for the biggest shopping weekend of the year next week, and here are our Super 7 picks for must-have gadget gifts the year:

1.) iPad Mini $329-$659

I admit – I was skeptical at first. I was worried the screen would be too small, that it would be hard to type on, etc. But once I had it in my hand, I too started to drink the Kool-aid. The regular iPad feels like a brick compared to the lightweight .68lb Mini. It’s actually easier to type on, because it’s small enough to type with your thumbs like you would on the iPhone – we’re sold!

2.) VuPoint Compact iPhone Photo Cube Printer $129

All those pretty photos – trapped inside your phone! Let them come to life with this awesome little cube that you can dock your iPhone right into. Don’t fret iPad and Android users – it’s got a USB port also.

3.) Super-Cute USB Drives $24.99-$129.99

The plain one I’ve been using looks so sad compared to these beauties by Kate Spade, Prinz & Beulah, SteampunkNation @Etsy, and ThinkGeek. Time to bring some cute design into the workspace!

4.) Lytro Camera, $399-$499

Touted as ‘the first consumer camera that records the entire light, instead of a flat 2D image.’, this little wonder takes what they call ‘living images’ which allow to focus (and refocus!) your image after the fact on your computer.

5.) Pop Video Pico Projector $99

Turn your iPhone and a blank wall into a HD theater using this fun gadget that snaps into your iPhone to become one compact unit. This is perfect for groups – it’s kinda hard for four people to watch that movie on your iPad.

6.) Sock Dreams ‘Smart Gloves’ $10

It’s only starting to get a little chilly here in L.A., and I’m still irritated having to take my gloves off to use my iPhone. Never again with these ‘Smart Gloves’, which have capacitive thumb and index finger tips so you can actually use your devices without losing an appendage in the cold.

7. Jawbone Up Wearable Fitness Tracker

The best-looking and most wearable of all the ‘Fitness Trackers’ out there, the Up band is being re-released with new hardware improvements, color options and a brand-new app. A snazzy bracelet that tracks your daily activity and sleep cycles, it also has a vibration alarm function.
