{Our Wedding} Part I

As an event designer and wedding planner, people always want to know about my own wedding. Now that it has found a home on a few lovely sites (most recently on ‘Emmaline Bride’, HERE), I thought it was high time I get around to blogging about it myself!

We’ve done a few posts on the Invitations and Welcome Bags for our wedding, so I’ll get right into it: the big day! We choose ‘The Smog Shoppe’ here in Los Angeles for our venue, because I wanted a place that seemed ‘L.A’ without being on the beach. We had so many out of town guests, but we were getting married in March and I was very wary of the weather that time of year. With an indoor/outdoor floorplan, ‘The Smog Shoppe’ was a great fit.

**Fun Fact: it should be noted that even Event Designers are not immune from parental misgivings. When I told my father I was going to get married at a place called ‘The Smog Shoppe’, you should have seen the look on his face. He pouted for weeks that it was a terrible name, and even asked if we could call it something else on the invitations! He ended up loving the location once he set eyes on it, but he just couldn’t fathom the name.**

Stay tuned for the rest of the week – I’ve got all the deets on the dress, the decor, the ceremony, all the things photos can’t capture – and falling chandeliers & other mishaps. Also, a DIY and special deal for all blog readers!!
